When the Chronicles of Narnia came out, we didn't take The Boy. He's still too little to really sit through a movie in a theater (especially a long one) and I thought parts of it might be too scary for him.

However, when Middle Daughter got the DVD for her birthday, we let him watch it. He's used to seeing monsters on the small screen, what with his absolute obsession with all things Godzilla and UltraMan.

He loved it, especially the battle scenes. He asked to watch "Carnivals of Narnia" about ten bazillion times, each time making us select the big battle scene.

Eventually, after shuffling through dozens of drawings he scribbled furiously while watching the DVD, I noticed that he was particularly fixated on the Minotaur.

"Do you like that Minotaur?" I asked him, slightly worried that he was obsessing out of anxiety.

"Yes, I do," he replied. "That's one tough cow."
