When you have children, there are phrases you expect will fall from your lips.
Things like, "Eat your broccoli", "Don't poke your sister" and "Put that down right now!"
But then, once in a while you catch yourself saying things that take you completely by surprise. Words that you never thought would even be in the same general conversation suddenly find themselves in the same sentence.
Like these, which I found myself uttering the other day as if they were perfectly natural:
"Don't lick the cart."
