Maybe I missed the point [Apr. 22nd, 2006|09:10 am]

Yesterday morning I saw a news segment about a woman who, stuck in debt and feeling queasy about being such a slave to consumerism, vowed to go a year without buying anything other than bare necessities. She wrote a book about it, Not Buying It - My Year Without Shopping.

This story made such an impression on me that I went out yesterday afternoon and spent over $200 on new clothes.

I figure, what is the point of me working anyway? Isn't it so I can have money to buy things? Life is about so much more than the bare necessities.
