- celtic fusion:
My favorite music. Right now stacked next to my cd player are Brother, The Rogues, Celtic Woman, and Wyndynwyre.
I love to cook, though I don't do it very much these days. I really, really love cookbooks. I used to be a very good cook; these days, not so much. My family's tastes are not quite...aligned...with mine.
If I were rich, my house would be gorgeous. As it is, I've learned to work with what I have, which is mostly hand-me-down furniture, which means the style of my house is "eclectic". I do a lot with paint and fabric (sewing window treatments is like 10,000 times cheaper than buying them). I recently completely redecorated my kid's rooms just by shuffling furniture between rooms and doing some painting.
- fairy tales:
I love fairy tales. I also love books that are based on fairy tales. I've recently discovered Donna Jo Napoli, whose retelling of Hansel and Gretel in The Magic Circle made me cry.
I will never be a true flybaby, but flylady reminds me to clean house the way I used to, back when I was only cleaning up after myself. Plus, I get a secret little thrill every time I open one of Kelly's missions, only to find I've already done it.
The site that got me hooked on the web. Which is either a good or bad thing, depending on your perspective. I've made some good friends there, been a cl for probably too long, and they also paid me to write, something for which I will be forever amazed and grateful.

What can I say? The man is just too pretty and funny for his own good, or mine.
At one point in my life, I wanted to write beautiful poetry that would make grown men cry. Someday, maybe I will, but I haven't written anything in years and years. I still want to combine this interest with #4; the last two poems I wrote were Snow White Revisited and Goodnight, My Prince . Next up, when I find the time, is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
This is why I love the internet - it's full of words. I am a compulsive reader (the can't pour the cereal without stopping to read the box kind). I have a special fondness for adolescent literature, but do venture into the world of grownup books. Right now I'm reading "Forever Odd", the sequel to "Odd Thomas".
Not the feeling, but the BDM. That's Big Damn Movie to those non-Browncoats among you. Right now, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a sequel, although it's not very likely. Driving to Austin for a prescreening and getting to meet Nathan and Ron, then seeing it for the first time in a packed house with people who were anticipating it as much as I was is the most amazing movie-going experience I've ever had.
