I'm glad I'm not a turkey, too

Yesterday they had a Thanksgiving lunch at The Boy's preschool. He was very excited. The children helped set the tables. The Boy pointed out that we had a bowl of butter and another of cranberry sauce. He could hardly contain himself.

It was quite funny seeing all the parents trying to maneuver themselves onto the tiny little chairs without knocking over the low little tables. Oldest Daughter had an especially hard time, given that her legs are about a bazillion inches long.

While we were waiting to be served, the children sang for us. Songs about Thanksgiving dinner, and things they were thankful for, and turkeys. The Boy joined in the chorus of Gobble Gobble Gobble with great gusto.

Then they started a little ditty to the tune of The More We Get Together.

I'm glad I'm not a turkey
A turkey, a turkey,
I'm glad I'm not a turkey
On Thanksgiving day

I heard a muffled noise to my right and turned to see Oldest Daughter trying to contain a fit of giggles.

They stuff you
And baste you
And everyone tastes you
I'm glad I'm not a turkey
On thanksgiving day

Oldest Daughter lost it. She actually snorted. I turned to see her lay her head on the table, shoulders shaking uncontrollably. It took her five minutes to recover.

It was a great lunch.
