Why don't football announcers ever use possessives? It drives me insane. He's flagged for grabbing the facemask of Smith. The ball slipped from the hand of MacMillian. The doctors are examining the ankle of Jackson. In the stands, we can see the wife of O'Mally watching the replay of Jones intercepting the pass of Maldonado.

What is wrong with these people? The grammar of them needs some work.

And when is it always future tense even though the event has already occurred?

Sports and police reporters have TOTALLY corrupted grammar in the U.S.

As well as local and national news casters/reporters.
