|Well, it's a start

The Boy is three and a half. He is not potty trained. Most of the time, he refuses to even discuss it. We ask him, "Do you want to sit on the potty?" and he replies, "No" and that's the end of that.
Last night, he told me he had to go. I asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty, and he said no. But then I guess he thought it over, and decided maybe he'd give it a try. He did try, too. He tried sitting. He tried standing. He tried with the seat up. He tried with the seat down. And decided that he just didn't know how to do it. But he wouldn't give up.
About 45 minutes later, he called excitedly, "I did it! I did it!" Husband ran into the bathroom, and there sat The Boy, face shining. "Look! I did it!" he crowed. Then he looked a bit puzzled and added, "How'd I do that?"
