And so it begins again [Apr. 17th, 2005|10:59 pm]

I bought a new garden hose this weekend. Last weekend, I tried to water some plants and got a shower instead. I like my new hose; it's longer than the old one so I can actually water the whole front instead of just the middle parts.

It's that time of year again, when I try to make heads or tails of the greenery surrounding my house. I spent some time sorting through the flotsam and jetsam in my back flower beds. (And if you think I've used those terms incorrectly, you've never seen my backyard after a rain). I pulled some weeds. I unwound some devil's ivy that had twisted itself around just about everything.

And now I'm wondering why my grass seems to be flourishing everywhere except in my lawn.

Have your fertilized? maybe you have poor soil, especially if you have some flotsam and jetsam - EU!

Enjoy the hose. A good tool is always alot of fun! (I love my vacuum!)

I've been meaning to try that whole fertilizing thing. Only it seems a lot like work.

I agree, it probably is. Hire some neighborhood boy to do it for you. Save you some time and less money than the pros.

If the grass is St. Augustin, it's no surprise it's flourishing everywhere BUT the lawn.

I guess if I had real dirt instead of this Texas Gumbo it wouldn't be such a problem. Although if you mow weeds, they look a lot like grass from a distance.
