The Boy is suddenly mad for books. He's always liked them, but now he loves them. We have to read lots of them, over and over. Right now one of his favorites is When Dog Was Little, which was also one of Middle Daughter's favorites. He runs around the house saying, "No no, Dog! That is not for you!" and laughing hysterically.

Tonight, he wanted I Had Trouble in getting to Solla Sollew. I was surprized that he sat through the whole thing, because you know what? That is one freaking long Dr. Seuss book. Thankfully he didn't ask to read it again. We did read Spot at Home about fifty gazillion times, but since it's only 56 words I could manage it.

I wish he would ask for Big Dog and Little Dog Getting in Trouble. That one always makes me laugh. "Big dog is in big trouble. Little dog is in big trouble, too."

Ah, the Memories!

I remember "Shapes for Lunch", "Claude and the Sun", "Marmalade's Christmas", "Morris and the Disappearing Bag"(one of MY personal favs),and "Tool Box".

All packed away now, because they both read on their own.

At that age,

my daughter's favorite was "Goodnight Moon". We had to read it almost every night, and that includes looking at each page and finding the mouse. Now that she can read on her own, it is one of her favorites and she can read it to herself. When we read it together, she still looks for the little mouse.

Re: At that age,

That was a favorite, too. I think The Boy would like it, if I could track it down. We have so many books, they are stuffed into every corner and closet and we even have some packed away in the attic. I definitely need some wallspace so we can put up some bookcases.
