There are a lot of important things going on in the world. I'm not going to talk about any of them. [Jan. 29th, 2014|09:44 pm]
Yesterday was a snow day, again with no snow. And not all that much ice, either, which is why I had to go in to work. It wasn't so bad because about half the company worked from home and I got a lot done. I was sad about not getting to try the potato bread again, though.

Bu then The Boy thoughtfully came down with a very bad cold and fever, so he had to stay home today, and someone had to stay home with him. I am pleased to report that the potato bread Mach 2 was a great success. Apparently, size matters, and not in the way most people think.

In other random stuff, I found out today that matte finish nail polish is a thing. I found out because I painted my nails with a new polish, and it wasn't shiny. I think it looks really weird and a lot like the pretend nail polish preschoolers wear, but Middle Daughter assures me that it's all the rage and there are even tutorials on line about how to turn that hopelessly old fashioned shiny nail polish languishing shamefully in your medicine cabinet into matte. Matt Polish sounds like a bad Private Eye cable show.

We need more info about this potato bread.

Matte nail polish and lip gloss have been dead to me since the 90's. ;)

I don't remember matte nail polish ever being popular. I go back and forth on matte lipstick but now that I'm older than dirt a little shine is helpful.

Yeah. I went back to you web site because the link is up there. I read your bio again. It has been a while since I read it. I guess it has been a while since you wrote it.

So this is what we did before Facebook?

I keep saying I'm going to update the website but then I get distracted. But I don't want to get rid of it because I like kickin it old school.

I don't like the matte polish myself. It looks dirty to me. So I will stick with the hopelessly old fashioned shiny nail polish and be happy about it!

How about that potato bread recipe?

It kind of looks like your nails do when you forgot you painted them and sat on your hands while they were still wet. Not, you know, that I have any experience with that.

Oh man, all ya'll with ice and snow!! LOL!!

You can send it on up here to the Northwest if you ever get it, because this has been (so far) *the* most depressing (read: mild and non-winter like) winter in memory.

I want some snow, dammit!!!!

Everyone who doesn't have snow wants it, and everyone who has it doesn't want it, lol.

And true to form....even if everyone got what they wanted, they would still complain.
