The Boy wears glasses, as of September of this year. Because he inherited my weird eyes, and spends the time he's not reading on the computer, we sprung for the bifocals so he wouldn't have to take them on and off to switch between near and far vision. I considered it a good investment, figuring that the less he had to take them off, the less likely he would be to lose them.|
I can't really tell if that strategy worked; he had them about six weeks before he lost them. Maybe if I hadn't forked over the extra bucks, they would have only lasted three.
We tried to order replacements, but his frames were discontinued. Something to add to the list of stuff I like that goes away. Or maybe The Boy inherited that from me as well, since he picked them out himself. In any case, we had to go back to the eyeplace so he could pick out a new pair.
The first ones were very sporty:
For his replacement pair, he decided he wanted more of a Science Nerd look:
Hopefully, this pair will make it at least till January, when my insurance will kick in again.

Okay. I'm aware that this is going to sound weird, but that last pic seriously makes me want to grab that kid and kiss the top of his head. There. I said it.
That was even weirder because it showed me as Anonymous. I'm hoping this time it will actually log me in. It's Skye, by the way, if it doesn't.
It doesn't sound weird at all. He's amazingly smoochable.
Pretty cool that you can log to LJ with a G+ account. One of these days I'm going to have to look into google+. When I stop being intimidated by new things.
