|How long does it take ice cream to freeze?

Today, when I got home from work, Husband asked me, "Did you turn off the refrigerator?" My answer was of course no, since I wasn't even aware that it was possible to turn off a refrigerator. I thought you just plugged them in and that was it. But, as it turns out, the little dial in the fridge that you can turn to adjust the temperature also can turn to an "off" position.
There's only one person in this house who would be inclined to turn random dials. He happens to be the shortest one, who has recently learned to work the lock we placed on the refrigerator when he first became inordinately interested in putting things into it. Things like legos and rocks and dishrags.
Nothing seems to have seriously thawed except the ice cream, which is still pretty mushy three hours later. I don't think we had anything in the refrigerator that would have spoiled in so short a time, but I guess we'll know next time someone wants a glass of milk.
