No time like the present [Aug. 1st, 2011|10:10 pm]
I finally broke down today and went to the doctor, because two weeks of sick is enough. I am now the proud owner of a three-day supply of antibiotics and some other medicine to take "as needed" (and the less said about that, the better) and am determined not to miss any more work.

Being home sick made me think about those memes that always go around, where the question is, "If you could live at any time in history, when would it be?" and I have to say I've never understood the question. All those people who talk about wanting to be alive during the Middle Ages or the French Revolution haven't really thought things through. Because the best time? Now. You know, the time with indoor plumbing and drinkable water right inside your house and antibiotics and vaccinations and air conditioning. And Milano cookies.
