One more thing [Sep. 22nd, 2004|07:05 am]

My brain is a storehouse of useless information. I don't know where I pick up this stuff, or why I retain this stuff, or what I'm supposed to do with it. I know stuff I don't even know I know. Of course, that doesn't mean I know the stuff I'm supposed to know - I can recall that pigs have more taste buds than humans, but I can't remember where I put my keys or which softball park Middle Daughter's practice will be at tomorrow or my husband's birthday or that I have a load of clothes in the washer that need to be moved over to the...drat.

In any case, in honor of Fall, I found this nifty quiz about all things autumnal, which I intended to put in the "I'm Falling" post, but didn't because the memory that I had found it was displaced by remembering that the wandering sops were named after a common meal of wine-soaked bread. Enjoy!

Heh. I'd be grocery shopping and I could remember all the words to "Gilligan's Island," but I couldn't remember if I brought my son with me...

I'm pleased with 6/10, although it's not a passing score. Does this mean I have to stay in summer school?

And I need help now, can't get the Kenya jingle out of my mind!

Sounds like you need to go to autumn school.

Oh, and I hate to break it to you, but the Kenya thing is permanent.

Ooo, I Should Be Ashamed!

I only got five out of ten! And Fall's my favorite month! Plus, I didn't get Demeter as the goddess of autumn, and I took Greek Mythology in college!

(Hangs head and slinks off in shame!)

Re: Ooo, I Should Be Ashamed!

You are not alone - I actually had to go back and edit my post because originally I said it was my favorite month, too.

Then again, we do live in Texas, where spring is an afternoon in March. So I guess allowing a whole month for autumn is pretty generous.

Re: Ooo, I Should Be Ashamed!

Even worse. There are those of us who still refer to them it as "semesters".
