I'm still here [Feb. 19th, 2008|09:57 pm]
Just not very posty lately. Or commenty. I am being ready, though...I hope that's not stalkery.

I've just been very busy, in mostly good ways. The weather has been unusually nice lately, so we went to the arboretum.  Not much wildlife aside from lots of these:

But we had a lovely leisurely walk.

It's a good thing the weather has been nice because The Boy has now ripped the knees out of all his school pants. I broke down and bought him a couple of pairs of jeans which means it probably won't drop below 75 again this year.

A couple of weeks ago I went on a girls' night out with my sister, mom, and assorted cousins. We went to Galveston to see Menopause The Musical at The Grand Opera House. (I was sitting right by the column in the first balcony, in the upper right corner of this pic) I laughed hard.

This past weekend I helped finish packing up my uncle's apartment. He's moved into an assisted living home and we were packing up some things for him to keep and sorting out things that might be sellable. In the process I managed to inherit a grandfather clock. I am very excited; I've always wanted one and this one is a reasonable size. Only, I don't have anywhere reasonably sized to put it. There is a space by the back door currently occupied by a metal baker's rack that we affectionately refer to as "the green thing" but it doesn't really go with anything and is mostly good for accumulating random junk. I've been holding out to replace it with a small welsh cupboard but have been either too broke or too cheap to buy one for the past seven years. So I think it's time to admit defeat and send the green thing packing.

Also this past weekend, I took my mom to see Celtic Woman. It was amazing. I think I still have goose bumps.

So, please forgive me for being such a non-blogger, and I will try to do better this week.

Oooh, the Welsh cupboard is gorgeous! However, if you haven't picked one up in seven years, the clock would be a better placeholder than a "green thing!"

LOVE the photos! I'm still under the weather but I'm beginning to force myself to comment here and there, too.

Can't wait to see a photo of the clock! Getting rid of the green thing sounds like the right thing to do. You'll enjoy the clock and it won't be a catch-all. ;-)

I love the photo of daddy and son, walking in the woods. I have made tons of my son and husband like this. I just think those are the sweetest pictures.
take care!
