Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I'm not a fan of cold. Only it would be nice if it dropped into the 70's soon, because it's RenFest and we don't want to go when it's hot. Garb isn't exactly warm-weather - uh - garb. Middle Daughter has decided she wants to be a pirate this year. No idea about The Boy. He could be an Ultimate Nerd and wear his Star Trek uniform, and pretend he's beamed down onto an alien planet. Yes, people do this. We try not to make eye contact with these people.
It's a gloomy drizzly day, which is unfortunate because I had actually planned to do some yard work. Not enough to make a difference, but enough to make me feel better about never doing yard work. Last weekend I attacked the front beds, pulling up the stray fern and ripping out the grass runners. My grass only grows well in places it's not supposed to grow at all. Today I was going to trim the little hedgy things, which grew more than usual over the summer because of all the rain.
This morning I noticed that my flowers in the back were blooming, something they didn't do all summer. Too much rain, not enough sun. It cheered me up a little - like I'm not such a bad plant mommy after all.
