Randomness [Sep. 4th, 2007|11:44 pm]

I have been so yawny today. I think I'm in decompress mode, now that my project has kinda sorta rolled out. I finally had time to go to the chiropractor today. As soon as I walked into the office, he said, "You've lost weight!" I was really surprised because I don't think it shows. I guess I just see the weight I still want to lose, and not the weight I've already lost.

I'm going back for a re-crunching on Thursday. No way was one session going to take care of half a year's worth of tension. But I do feel better, and can even turn my head to the left, which is an improvement.

Tonight was The Boy's open house. I had no idea. My mom happened to check his red folder - the one they send home every Tuesday with all the announcements and assignments - and there was a flyer for it. Gosh, that would have been something useful for them to send home last week, don't you think? He was very excited, and showed us the fish tank, and the tank with the walking sticks, and where he sits, and all the work he did last week. His teacher recognized Middle Daughter, even though she was in a different class. The Boy likes her (the teacher) a lot, even though she calls the class "My Babies".  The way she says it, it's not an insult.

Afterwards, we went out to dinner, since it was too late to cook. So much for the five pounds I was going to try to lose before I leave for Vegas next week. Sometimes, ya just gotta splurge.

I'm too tired to wrap this up with anything clever. *Insert your own punchline here*

It's a problem we women have - we look in the mirror and see the negatives.

I call my students my babies, and they're 8th graders!

You know, men never seem to have that problem. They always think they look good, even when they don't!

Open House!

I'm a bad mommy, I didn't go. They sent home a flyer the *day of*, which said "please make other arrangements for your children." Excuse me? You mean the parents of 500 students have to find a babysitter in one afternoon? It didn't happen. (sigh)

Re: Open House!

I'm not going to dd's open house tonight. She asked, "Don't you want to know what I'm going to be learning?" I told her I had been to high school, so I had a pretty good idea.
