It was bound to happen sooner or later [Feb. 3rd, 2008|09:28 am]

We got this email from The Boy's kindergarten teacher:

--------
From: Ms G.
To: The Boy's Mom, K's Mom
Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2008 3:16:54 PM
Subject: Out of the mouths of....

…babes??  Will this be funny?  J

L and K were chatting today and L says, ……..sh**.    Well, K repeats it.

 Parents,

Not to worry.  We talked about how kids shouldn’t say those words and that even when you hear it, you can’t repeat it.  L knew it was a bad word and he told me just that.  (The funny part of it all is that he used in the right context)  J

They were both remorseful.  I gave each a little time out because it took too long for them to finally tell me the truth and other kids at their table heard and told me.  (So, I had to do a little time out).

Thanks.

Ms. G
--------

The Boy was very remorseful. When I asked him where he heard that word, he pointed at Husband. Not that that was a surprise. The Boy is always pointing out bad words when Husband says them.

I asked The Boy what other bad words he knew, and he said he knew the S word and the G word and the W word. I asked him what the W word was, and he didn't want to say it, so he wrote it down for me. Whatthehek.

The Boy made Husband a list of words Husband shouldn't say, with the circle-slash universal no symbol over them.

The thing that made me laugh hardest? When we told my mom about the email, she said, Ms G is a bit of snitch, isn't she?

She's been teaching for 20 years, and takes everything in stride. I don't think anything rattles her, lol.

That's awesome. I wasn't meant to be a teacher. I'd get rattled by everything! LOL

Despite the fact that she piles

reports on kindergarteners, I really like her sense of humor.

I'm laughing out loud at 'whatthehek' and don't be to hard on the husband. It's not his fault the teacher is a snitch! And, he was remorseful.

Re: Despite the fact that she piles

Well, The Boy was remorseful, but Husband? Not so much.

It was very hard to have a serious discussion with The Boy about it, because I was trying so hard not to laugh.

We are having a 'damnit' problem around here. Of the 'god' variety. We're trying to be nonchalant and watch our filthy mouths ;)

LOL! We went through a similar incident with the 'f' word in 1st grade. Except the remorse part :( Well, until he ate soap.

I'm not sure if he was remorseful about saying it, or just about getting caught!
